Directions to Robin Hoods Bay and Burton House

Robin Hoods Bay is sign posted 5 miles south of Whitby on the A171 Whitby to Scarborough road.

Burton House is located on Chapel Street at the top of King Street. Chapel Street is a narrow footpath suitable for pedestrians only and visitors will find that the most convenient places for loading and unloading cars are at the New Road end of Chapel Street near King's Beck or (if it is not to busy) the top of King Street at the other end of Chapel Street. Please note that King Street is a narrow street with no turning area at the top so the only way out is the way you came.

NB Cars may only be driven into the lower part of the Bay for unloading and loading purposes only and signs at the top of the bank will warn you of this. Cars must be parked in the public car parks situated at the top of the Bay where 3 to 7 day parking permits are available from the Robin Hoods Bay Post Office. Parking permits are valid for use at many car parks up and down the coast and are therefore a good choice if you are planning to get out and about.
